Canon EOS R50 Mirrorless Camera – 24.2MP APS-C, 4K UHD, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II
The Canon EOS R50 Mirrorless Camera is your fast track to stunning, ready-to-share photos and video, blending pro-level imaging with creator-friendly simplicity so you can shoot, grow, and sell your vision without the learning curve. Built around a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and the lightning-quick DIGIC X processor, the R50 delivers crisp detail, accurate color, and clean low-light results that punch far above its weight—whether you’re capturing product flat-lays for your store, travel reels for social, or family milestones you never want to miss. Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II locks onto subjects with the kind of confidence you expect from higher-tier bodies: advanced detection recognizes people (eye/face/head/body), animals (dogs, cats, birds), and vehicles (cars, motorcycles), tracking them edge-to-edge with up to 4,503 selectable AF positions for stills (651 zones) and 3,713 positions in video (527 zones).
For action, the R50 fires bursts up to 15 fps (electronic shutter) or 12 fps (electronic first-curtain), helping you freeze decisive moments—perfect for behind-the-scenes content, street photography, kids, pets, and live demos where a single frame sells the story. Video creators will love oversampled 4K UHD 30p (from 6K capture) with no significant crop, delivering crisp, moiré-resistant footage right out of camera, while Full HD 120p unlocks smooth slow motion for trend-worthy b-roll. HDR PQ movies bring 10-bit tonal finesse for modern HDR workflows; vertical video support streamlines shorts and Stories; Movie for Close-Up Demos mode refocuses instantly from face to foreground—ideal for showcasing products on camera. Add the 3.5 mm mic input for clean audio, Digital Movie IS to steady handheld clips, and clean HDMI out for external recording or live streaming, and you’ve got a compact production studio that travels anywhere. The vari-angle 3.0-inch touchscreen (1.62m-dot) flips forward for self-shooting and vlogging, while the sharp 2.36m-dot OLED EVF gives a bright, reliable view for stills work in harsh light. Designed to be nimble, the EOS R50 weighs about 375 g with battery and card, measures roughly 116.3×85.5×68.8 mm, and slips easily into a sling or tote—light enough for all-day events, trade shows, and on-location edits.
Canon’s RF mount unlocks the growing RF and RF-S lens lineup, from ultrawide interiors to creamy portrait primes; with the EF-EOS R adapter, your favorite EF/EF-S glass stays in play, protecting past investments and expanding creative range. In-camera conveniences speed your workflow: JPEG, HEIF, RAW/CR3, and space-saving C-RAW keep files flexible; Creative Assist explains settings in plain language so beginners can dial in “the look” without getting lost; time-lapse is built in for effortless scene transitions; anti-flicker keeps exposure stable under office or gym lighting; a pop-up flash handles quick fills for faces and small products. Connectivity is frictionless: use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to pair with the Canon Camera Connect app for remote control, instant transfers, and smartphone GPS tagging; USB-C supports in-camera charging/power so you can top up on the go or run long sessions without swapping batteries. Practical touches matter in the field—single SD/SDHC/SDXC (UHS-I) card slot for broad media compatibility, LP-E17 battery, Micro HDMI output, and an orientation sensor that rotates files for vertical delivery.
And because speed sells, the R50’s autofocus responsiveness, face/eye stickiness, and reliable metering (Evaluative/Partial/Spot/Center-weighted) mean fewer missed moments and less time reshooting. If you’re comparing alternatives, the R50 stands out with oversampled 4K without a heavy crop, class-leading AF that competes with cameras well above its price, a creator-centric feature set (vertical video, Close-Up Demos, articulated screen, mic input), and a featherweight build that makes everyday carrying a non-issue. It’s the camera that upgrades your storefront photography, accelerates your content pipeline, and elevates your brand aesthetic—without demanding a production crew. Choose the Canon EOS R50 Mirrorless Camera today to unlock pro-looking results, faster turnaround, and more engaging content that converts; add it to your cart with the compact RF-S 18–45 mm for a perfect walk-around kit, pair it with a fast RF prime for gorgeous background blur, or adapt your existing EF favorites—then hit record, hit publish, and watch your visuals work harder for your business.
Features:
24.2MP APS-C CMOS Sensor for High-Resolution Imaging
At the heart of the Canon EOS R50 lies a 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, purpose-built to capture crisp detail, vibrant colors, and natural tonal gradation. Unlike smartphone sensors or entry-level compact cameras, the APS-C format strikes the ideal balance between portability and image quality, making it a smart choice for both still photography and video content. With this resolution, you can produce sharp product shots, professional portraits, or large-format prints that retain quality even when cropped for social media or marketing campaigns.
DIGIC X Image Processor for Speed and Efficiency
Canon’s advanced DIGIC X processor powers the EOS R50, providing the responsiveness and efficiency normally found in higher-end cameras. This processor ensures fast image handling, reduced noise in low-light conditions, and the ability to process oversampled 6K data into detailed 4K UHD footage. The DIGIC X also manages advanced autofocus calculations and continuous shooting bursts, making the R50 not only fast but consistently reliable under demanding conditions.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with Advanced Subject Detection
The camera’s autofocus system is powered by Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, one of Canon’s most advanced focusing technologies. With up to 4,503 selectable AF positions for stills and 3,713 for video, it covers nearly the entire frame, ensuring accurate subject tracking even at the edges. Intelligent subject recognition can lock onto human eyes, faces, heads, and bodies, as well as animals like dogs, cats, and birds, and even vehicles such as cars and motorbikes. This means whether you’re photographing pets, shooting lifestyle vlogs, or filming fast-moving events, the R50 keeps your subject sharp and in focus every time.
High-Speed Continuous Shooting at 15 FPS
When the action heats up, the EOS R50 doesn’t miss a beat. Using the electronic shutter, it captures up to 15 frames per second, or 12 fps with the electronic first-curtain shutter. This speed makes it perfect for capturing fleeting expressions, sports moments, or behind-the-scenes content where timing is everything. Combined with the powerful autofocus, these high frame rates ensure you get the exact shot you want without relying on luck.
Oversampled 4K UHD Video with No Heavy Crop
Content creators will appreciate the R50’s ability to produce oversampled 4K UHD footage at up to 30p. By reading the sensor at 6K resolution and downsampling to 4K, the camera delivers footage that’s sharp, detailed, and free from noticeable artifacts. Unlike some other APS-C cameras that impose heavy crops, the EOS R50 retains your lens’s full angle of view in 4K mode, making it far easier to frame shots consistently whether shooting stills or video.
Full HD 120p for Smooth Slow Motion
In addition to its 4K capabilities, the EOS R50 records Full HD video at up to 120 frames per second. This opens the door to smooth slow-motion effects, perfect for product reveals, action sequences, or cinematic storytelling. Slow motion adds drama and polish to your content, providing an easy way to stand out across social platforms and digital campaigns.
HDR PQ and 10-Bit Color for Next-Level Video Quality
The R50 supports HDR PQ recording and 10-bit color depth, ensuring your videos have richer tonal detail, smoother gradients, and a professional cinematic feel. This is especially valuable for creators working with modern HDR workflows, as it ensures footage looks its best across today’s high-dynamic-range displays. The combination of HDR PQ and oversampled 4K allows small teams and individual creators to produce content that looks like it came from a full-scale production.
Vari-Angle Touchscreen and OLED EVF for Flexible Shooting
The 3.0-inch vari-angle touchscreen, boasting 1.62 million dots, flips out to face forward, making it a natural fit for vlogging, selfies, or tutorials. Its touchscreen functionality provides intuitive access to settings and focus control, while its flexibility allows for high- and low-angle shooting without strain. Complementing the LCD is a bright 2.36-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF), offering 100% coverage and a natural viewing experience in bright light conditions where screens can be hard to see.
Lightweight, Compact, and Travel-Ready
At just 375 g with battery and card, the Canon EOS R50 is remarkably lightweight, especially given its feature set. Measuring only 116.3 × 85.5 × 68.8 mm, it’s small enough to fit into most bags without sacrificing handling comfort. This portability makes it the perfect travel camera for creators on the move, whether capturing street photography, travel reels, or professional work on location.
Seamless Connectivity with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB-C
Modern creators demand instant sharing and the EOS R50 delivers with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Pair the camera with Canon’s Camera Connect app to transfer images and videos to your smartphone in seconds, enabling faster posting to social platforms or cloud storage. USB-C connectivity supports in-camera charging and continuous power, a must-have for live streaming, long recording sessions, or extended photo shoots. The Micro HDMI port provides external output for monitors and recorders, while the 3.5 mm microphone jack ensures professional audio capture.
Vertical Video and Close-Up Demo Mode for Creators
Canon has tailored the EOS R50 with creator-friendly features like native vertical video support and a unique Close-Up Demo mode. Vertical video ensures your footage is properly oriented for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts without requiring post-production edits. Close-Up Demo mode automatically shifts focus from a presenter’s face to an object held in front of the camera, ideal for product showcases, tutorials, or influencer content that thrives on smooth, polished transitions.
Lens Compatibility and Creative Expansion with RF Mount
The EOS R50 uses Canon’s RF mount, giving you access to both RF and RF-S lenses—ranging from wide-angle zooms to fast portrait primes. For those already invested in Canon’s DSLR ecosystem, the EF-EOS R adapter provides seamless compatibility with EF and EF-S lenses, protecting your existing investments and opening up an extensive catalog of optics. This flexibility ensures that as your skills and needs grow, the R50 grows with you.
Reliable Metering and Exposure Control
Exposure accuracy is handled by a 384-zone metering system that supports evaluative, spot, partial, and center-weighted modes. Combined with ±3 EV exposure compensation, Auto Exposure Bracketing, and anti-flicker technology, the EOS R50 adapts to tricky lighting environments like gyms, offices, or concerts. These features guarantee well-exposed shots straight out of camera, reducing the need for corrective editing later.
Built-In Pop-Up Flash and External Flash Support
For quick fill light, the EOS R50 includes a built-in pop-up flash—convenient for low-light portraits, casual photography, or adding catchlights to eyes. When more power is needed, the camera supports Canon’s E-TTL II external flashes via the hot shoe, ensuring full creative control of lighting. With a maximum sync speed of 1/250 sec, you can freeze fast-moving subjects even with flash.
Creative Assist and Beginner-Friendly Controls
Canon designed the EOS R50 to welcome newcomers without overwhelming them. The Creative Assist interface explains exposure adjustments in everyday terms and provides visual previews, allowing beginners to achieve professional-looking results quickly. Combined with scene modes, Creative Filters, and Hybrid Auto, the camera balances professional capability with user-friendly accessibility.
Long-Lasting Power with USB Charging Support
Powered by the LP-E17 rechargeable battery, the EOS R50 provides around 230 shots per charge under CIPA standards when using the EVF. For creators working on extended projects, USB power delivery allows you to recharge on the go or operate the camera continuously during long recording sessions. This flexibility makes it practical for vlogging, streaming, and event coverage.

It is so nice to see a small family owned shop instead of these big box stores. I generally felt cared about when getting my blackmagic cinema camera. Love the quality of the images and how easy it is to use.

This small business has the best customer service HANDS DOWN!!
Lucas worked with me diligently to help me find a camera that would fit my needs and that would arrive in time for my trip. I take photos, but wanted a smaller, more compact camera to take with me when traveling. He even reached out to other camera experts to make sure he was giving me the best advice for the equipment that would accommodate my needs!
Lucas was patient with me and was in constant contact with the camera supplier to keep me updated on the status of my order and when the items would be ready for shipment. Once my order arrived to the store, it was in my hands in less than 2 days. I would give 10 stars to this business if I could!!
SHOP SMALL! :)
AMAZING SERVICE!
In short: I was able to receive the black colorway below retail and free next day shipping with the promos that they offered for being a new camera web-shop based from AZ.
Long story: Lucas who is prolly the only rep for the company cuz they're so small is the best dude ever. Since i ordered he responded on emails and updates quicker than some of my friends texting me back about where am at on the list as people just kept cancelling their order. I went from 9th place in line to 4th place in line for the silver. And he hit me up saying that they were still waiting on Fuji to send shipping updates and that no company knows what they get on their weekly fuji shipments other than from a 24 hour window of receiving shipping details.
He then noted that there were two black X100Vs available that were reserved to customers who ordered but have not confirmed. I said if they dont confirm please let me know and ill take that instead of the silver. The next day he hits me saying the customer said to cancel and he sent me an invoice. I ordered accessories for the camera on amazon right after and my package for the camera came before my amazon package. Lucas was super nice and transparent about everything. Dope experience from NUZIRA.
Lucas was so incredibly helpful!!! I’ve genuinely never had better customer service. They offered to stay late so I could get my order and were so patient with all my questions. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

NUZIRA MADE MY MONTH!
I was a little concerned when I first came across this small business but I am so so thankful I di! They have the NICESt staff and customer service. I have been on the waitlist for this camera for a few months now so when Lucas called saying they had it back in stock I was so freaking excited! Made my whole month. This camera absolutely lives up to the hype. I love how lightweight it is. I can pop it into any bag and head out the door. the images are crisp, high quality, and stunning. I use film sim and not film sim. The film simulations are nearly identical to real film. I have another fuji camera that does film sim but it can't even be compared to this one. I love my Fujifilm X100v so much! Amazing camera! Thanks you Nuzira!
