Features:
7× Magnification with 50 mm Objective Lenses
The Fujinon Mariner Binoculars are designed with a 7× magnification paired with large 50 mm objective lenses, a standard trusted by professionals in marine optics because it strikes the perfect balance between power and stability. The 7× zoom ensures steady images even when your hands are unsteady on a rocking boat, while the wide 50 mm objective lenses capture more light for brighter views. This combination makes them highly effective for low-light conditions such as dusk, dawn, or cloudy weather at sea, allowing you to spot buoys, vessels, or coastlines with clarity.
Wide Field of View for Horizon Scanning
With a field of view reaching 7.5° on the WP-XL model and 7.0° on the WPC-XL compass model, these binoculars give you the ability to scan large sections of the horizon quickly. In practical terms, that translates to 131 m or 122 m visible width at a distance of 1000 m, depending on the variant. Such breadth ensures you can monitor multiple moving objects, follow marine wildlife, or assess approaching vessels without constant readjustment, which is essential in fast-changing marine environments.
High Light Transmission with EBC Multicoatings
The lenses and prisms are treated with Fujinon’s EBC (Electron Beam Coating), a proprietary multi-coating process that increases light transmission while minimizing glare and internal reflections. For users, this means crisp contrast, truer color rendition, and the ability to see finer details even in bright sunlight reflecting off the water. When safety and navigation depend on being able to distinguish subtle differences in shapes and colors, this superior coating technology offers a distinct advantage over cheaper alternatives.
Long Eye Relief and Comfortable Eyecups
One of the standout features of the Fujinon Mariner Binoculars is their generous 18 mm eye relief. This allows eyeglass wearers to enjoy a full field of view without removing their glasses. Combined with soft fold-down eyecups, the binoculars provide flexibility for every user, whether they prefer using glasses, sunglasses, or bare eyes. Comfort during long periods of use is critical in marine navigation, and this thoughtful design ensures reduced eye strain and uninterrupted observation.
Rugged Polycarbonate Housing with Rubber Armor
Marine environments are unforgiving, which is why the Fujinon Mariner series is encased in impact-resistant polycarbonate, making them both strong and lightweight. The addition of rubber armor not only protects the optics from shocks and knocks but also adds a layer of grip security. At just 885 g for the WP-XL and 910 g for the WPC-XL, these binoculars are lighter than many comparable marine models, reducing fatigue during extended use while still withstanding the harsh conditions of saltwater, sun, and wind.
Waterproof and Nitrogen-Purged Construction
Reliability on the water requires complete weatherproofing, and these binoculars deliver with full waterproof sealing, tested to withstand immersion at 1 meter for 5 minutes. Beyond simple water resistance, they are nitrogen-purged to eliminate internal fogging that typically occurs with sudden temperature changes—such as moving from a hot cabin to the cool open deck. This robust protection ensures you always see a clear, unobstructed image, no matter the environment.
Floating Capability with Neck Strap
The included flotation neck strap makes the Fujinon Mariner Binoculars virtually unsinkable when attached properly. In the event of accidental drops into the water, the strap ensures that the binoculars float to the surface, allowing you to retrieve them quickly. This unique safety feature eliminates the risk of losing a critical piece of gear at sea, which is a real concern for boaters and fishermen handling equipment in wet, unstable conditions.
Individual Eyepiece Focusing with ±4 Diopter Adjustment
Instead of a central focus wheel, the Fujinon Mariner series uses an individual focus system where each eyepiece can be adjusted independently. This setup allows for precise, permanent adjustments tailored to the user’s vision and eliminates the need to refocus constantly. The ±4 diopter range makes it possible to compensate for differences in each eye’s prescription, offering crystal-clear clarity personalized to the user’s eyesight.
Built-in Compass with LED Illumination (WPC-XL Variant)
For navigators and serious mariners, the WPC-XL model includes a precision compass with ±0.5° accuracy, integrated directly into the binocular housing. This feature enables users to take bearings and measure direction while simultaneously observing distant objects, making it invaluable for navigation at sea. The compass includes LED illumination, powered by two LR43 batteries, allowing accurate readings even in the dark or during overcast conditions. This dual-purpose functionality reduces the need for separate navigation tools, saving time and improving efficiency.
Excellent Low-Light Performance with Large Exit Pupil
A 7.1 mm exit pupil size, coupled with a relative brightness rating of 51, makes the Fujinon Mariner Binoculars outstanding in dim or challenging lighting conditions. This is especially useful at dawn, dusk, or during stormy weather when natural light is limited, but visibility is critical for safety. The optics deliver images that remain bright, clear, and usable when many competing binoculars fall short, giving users confidence in conditions that are often the most dangerous.
Versatile Operating Temperature Range
Tested to operate between –20 °C and +50 °C, these binoculars maintain performance in extreme cold and heat. Whether you’re navigating icy waters in the early morning or sailing under the blazing summer sun, the optical clarity and structural integrity remain intact. This resilience provides assurance that the binoculars are built for true all-weather performance, not just ideal conditions.
Complete Accessory Package for Practical Use
Each pair of Fujinon Mariner Binoculars comes with tethered objective lens caps, an eyepiece rainguard, a microfiber cleaning cloth, the flotation neck strap, batteries for the compass version, and a user manual. These accessories extend usability, protect the lenses from damage, and add convenience for handling in unpredictable weather. Importantly, the flotation strap doubles as both a carrying aid and a safety measure, demonstrating that Fujinon designed every element with real-world marine use in mind.
Lightweight Yet Durable Choice in Its Class
At under 1 kg, the Fujinon Mariner Binoculars stand out for offering a lighter build without sacrificing strength, waterproofing, or optical power. Many competing 7×50 marine binoculars weigh significantly more, which can quickly lead to hand fatigue or difficulty stabilizing during long use. This weight advantage, combined with Fujinon’s build quality, makes the Mariner series a practical long-term investment.

What are the main differences between the WP-XL and WPC-XL models?
The WP-XL is the standard 7×50 marine binocular without a compass, while the WPC-XL adds a built-in, LED-illuminated bearing compass. The WPC-XL is slightly deeper and heavier due to the compass module and shows a marginally narrower field of view.
Do these binoculars float if dropped overboard?
Yes—when the included flotation neck strap is properly attached. The strap is designed to keep the binoculars buoyant long enough for quick retrieval in typical boating scenarios.
How waterproof and fogproof are the Fujinon Mariner binoculars?
They are sealed and nitrogen-purged for internal fog resistance and rated for brief immersion (1 meter for up to 5 minutes). This protects the optics from spray, rain, and accidental splashes, but they are not intended for prolonged underwater use.
Are they suitable for eyeglass wearers?
Absolutely. With 18 mm of long eye relief and fold-down eyecups, most eyeglass wearers can see the full field without removing their glasses. Adjust each eyepiece and eyecup position to taste.
How does the individual focus system work at sea?
Instead of a center focus wheel, each eyepiece focuses independently. Set the left eyepiece for your left eye, the right for your right eye, and you’re done—no constant refocusing when you shift from near to far targets. This is ideal for scanning horizons and reading distant markers.
What batteries does the compass use and how long do they last?
The WPC-XL’s LED compass illumination uses two LR43 button cells. Battery life varies with temperature and usage, but because the LED is used intermittently (only when needed for night or low-light readings), a set typically lasts many outings.
How well do they perform in low light?
The 7×50 optical formula produces a 7.1 mm exit pupil and excellent light gathering. Combined with multicoated optics, this yields bright, high-contrast images at dawn, dusk, and in overcast conditions—key moments for navigation and safety.
What is the field of view and why does it matter on the water?
The WP-XL offers a wide 7.5° field (about 131 m @ 1000 m) and the WPC-XL about 7.0° (122 m @ 1000 m). Wider views help you scan large sections of horizon quickly, follow moving vessels, and maintain situational awareness in busy waterways.
What accessories are included in the box?
Each unit comes with tethered objective caps, an eyepiece rainguard, a flotation neck strap, a cleaning cloth, and a user manual. The WPC-XL also includes the LR43 batteries for the compass illumination.
Can I mount these binoculars on a tripod?
Marine 7×50s are typically hand-held, but many users employ a universal Porro-prism tripod adapter (sold separately). If you need hands-free viewing from a stable platform, check compatibility with a suitable adapter before purchasing.
What is the operating temperature range?
They’re designed to function from approximately −20 °C to +50 °C, covering most real-world marine environments—from chilly dawn patrols to hot mid-day runs—without internal fogging or performance loss.
How should I clean and care for the optics?
Blow off loose grit with a bulb blower, lightly brush remaining dust, then use a microfiber cloth with a few drops of lens cleaning solution. Avoid household cleaners, paper towels, and excessive pressure, and always replace caps when not in use.
Are the lenses and prisms coated?
Yes. The Mariner series uses multi-coatings (including Fujinon’s high-transmission treatments) on lenses and prisms to reduce reflections and enhance contrast—crucial for cutting through glare on open water.
How do I set interpupillary distance (IPD) and diopter?
Fold the binoculars until both circular images merge into one for your IPD. Then focus the left eyepiece on a distant target, switch to the right eyepiece and adjust its diopter ring until both eyes see sharp detail. Note the diopter mark for future reference.
What kind of warranty do these binoculars have?
Fujinon provides a limited warranty whose terms vary by region and retailer. Keep your proof of purchase, register if applicable, and consult the local distributor for coverage details and service procedures.

This small business has the best customer service HANDS DOWN!!
Lucas worked with me diligently to help me find a camera that would fit my needs and that would arrive in time for my trip. I take photos, but wanted a smaller, more compact camera to take with me when traveling. He even reached out to other camera experts to make sure he was giving me the best advice for the equipment that would accommodate my needs!
Lucas was patient with me and was in constant contact with the camera supplier to keep me updated on the status of my order and when the items would be ready for shipment. Once my order arrived to the store, it was in my hands in less than 2 days. I would give 10 stars to this business if I could!!
SHOP SMALL! :)
AMAZING SERVICE!
In short: I was able to receive the black colorway below retail and free next day shipping with the promos that they offered for being a new camera web-shop based from AZ.
Long story: Lucas who is prolly the only rep for the company cuz they're so small is the best dude ever. Since i ordered he responded on emails and updates quicker than some of my friends texting me back about where am at on the list as people just kept cancelling their order. I went from 9th place in line to 4th place in line for the silver. And he hit me up saying that they were still waiting on Fuji to send shipping updates and that no company knows what they get on their weekly fuji shipments other than from a 24 hour window of receiving shipping details.
He then noted that there were two black X100Vs available that were reserved to customers who ordered but have not confirmed. I said if they dont confirm please let me know and ill take that instead of the silver. The next day he hits me saying the customer said to cancel and he sent me an invoice. I ordered accessories for the camera on amazon right after and my package for the camera came before my amazon package. Lucas was super nice and transparent about everything. Dope experience from NUZIRA.
Lucas was so incredibly helpful!!! I’ve genuinely never had better customer service. They offered to stay late so I could get my order and were so patient with all my questions. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

NUZIRA MADE MY MONTH!
I was a little concerned when I first came across this small business but I am so so thankful I di! They have the NICESt staff and customer service. I have been on the waitlist for this camera for a few months now so when Lucas called saying they had it back in stock I was so freaking excited! Made my whole month. This camera absolutely lives up to the hype. I love how lightweight it is. I can pop it into any bag and head out the door. the images are crisp, high quality, and stunning. I use film sim and not film sim. The film simulations are nearly identical to real film. I have another fuji camera that does film sim but it can't even be compared to this one. I love my Fujifilm X100v so much! Amazing camera! Thanks you Nuzira!
