Tokina 86mm Cinema PRO IRND 2.4 Filter (8 Stop) – Neutral Density with IR Suppression
The Tokina 86mm Cinema PRO IRND 2.4 Filter (8 Stop) is a precision-engineered optical tool designed for filmmakers, cinematographers, and content creators who demand uncompromising image quality and complete control over exposure in bright shooting conditions. Crafted from high-grade optical glass and finished with Tokina’s exclusive ACCU-ND electrolytic coating process, this professional filter delivers a hyper-neutral color balance, ensuring zero unwanted color shift and preserving the integrity of your camera’s original color science. With an optical density of 2.4, equivalent to an impressive 8 stops of light reduction and just 0.39% light transmission, the filter allows you to shoot with wider apertures for cinematic shallow depth of field or maintain slower shutter speeds for natural motion blur, even under intense lighting or direct sunlight. Unlike conventional ND filters that often suffer from infrared pollution—resulting in muddy shadows or magenta/green casts—the Tokina PRO IRND effectively suppresses infrared contamination all the way up to approximately 1200nm, maintaining clean, true-to-life blacks and pristine overall image fidelity. Its vapor-deposited coatings on both sides of the glass not only minimize reflections and flare but also ensure consistent performance and long-term durability, making it a reliable choice for demanding production environments. The slim, all-metal 86mm threaded frame adds robust protection while offering a front accessory thread, allowing stacking with additional filters or the use of protective lens caps without compromise. Packaged with a padded filter pouch for safe transport, this filter is as practical as it is powerful. Weighing just 0.25 lb and compactly sized with box dimensions of 6.75" × 6.5" × 1.5", it is a highly portable addition to any filmmaker’s kit. Whether you’re shooting in the harsh midday sun, managing challenging contrast ratios, or simply seeking to achieve the most cinematic look possible, the Tokina 86mm Cinema PRO IRND 2.4 Filter stands out as a superior investment—outperforming cheaper alternatives that often compromise on neutrality or IR control. By offering unmatched color accuracy, robust IR suppression, and the confidence of professional-grade build quality, this filter ensures that every frame you capture retains its intended clarity, contrast, and tonal richness. If you are serious about elevating your craft, achieving consistent results, and future-proofing your gear with a filter that won’t degrade or drift over time, the Tokina 86mm Cinema PRO IRND 2.4 Filter (8 Stop) is the ultimate choice—making it not just another accessory, but a vital creative instrument for serious professionals.
Features:
Hyper-Neutral Color Accuracy with ACCU-ND Technology
At the core of this filter lies Tokina’s proprietary ACCU-ND coating process, which utilizes an electrolytic deposition of rare-earth metals onto the optical glass. This ensures that the filter delivers an exceptionally neutral color response across the visible spectrum, preventing the common magenta, green, or warm shifts seen in cheaper ND filters. This level of accuracy is crucial for professionals who rely on consistent results across different shooting environments, as it allows you to retain the integrity of your camera’s natural color science without extensive color correction in post-production.
Reliable 8-Stop Light Reduction for Creative Control
With an optical density of 2.4, this filter cuts light by a precise 8 stops, reducing light transmission down to 0.39%. This makes it an indispensable tool when shooting in extremely bright environments where exposure must be carefully managed. By maintaining proper exposure, cinematographers can use wide apertures to achieve shallow depth of field or slower shutter speeds to capture natural motion blur, both of which contribute to cinematic visuals. Unlike variable ND filters that may produce inconsistencies, this fixed ND guarantees repeatable, predictable results every time.
Advanced Infrared Suppression up to 1200 nm
One of the standout features of this filter is its robust infrared (IR) control. As digital cinema cameras become more sensitive to IR pollution, higher ND values can cause blacks to shift toward muddy magenta or green tones. The Tokina Cinema PRO IRND addresses this by suppressing infrared light all the way up to 1200 nanometers, far beyond the visible spectrum. This ensures that shadows remain true black, highlights stay natural, and overall color fidelity is preserved—making it ideal for modern sensors that are prone to IR contamination at high ND levels.
Durable Vapor-Deposited Coatings on Both Sides
The filter is built with ND vapor-deposition coatings applied to both sides of the optical glass. This process not only strengthens the filter against wear but also helps to minimize reflections, flare, and ghosting, even in challenging lighting conditions. Unlike traditional dyed-glass ND filters that can fade over time, this advanced deposition method ensures long-term stability and consistency, giving professionals peace of mind that their filter will perform reliably for years of use.
Professional-Grade Optical Glass Construction
Crafted from high-quality optical glass, this filter guarantees superior clarity and resolution, ensuring that no sharpness is lost when mounted on cinema-grade lenses. The optical glass also enhances transmission efficiency, keeping images crisp and detailed while withstanding the rigors of professional film sets. Combined with Tokina’s advanced coatings, this results in an optical tool that delivers both performance and durability.
Rugged, Slim Metal Frame with Front Threads
Encased in a slim all-metal aluminum ring, the filter is designed for strength and precision. The robust build protects the optical glass from impact while remaining lightweight for field use. The 86mm rear thread allows direct mounting on compatible lenses, while the front accessory thread supports stacking additional filters or attaching protective lens caps. This versatility makes it easy to integrate into any production workflow without sacrificing convenience or compatibility.
Practical Size, Portability, and Included Pouch
Weighing only 0.25 lb and packaged within compact dimensions of 6.75" × 6.5" × 1.5", the Tokina 86mm Cinema PRO IRND filter is highly portable, fitting easily into any filmmaker’s kit. To protect the filter during transport and storage, Tokina includes a padded nylon filter pouch, ensuring it remains scratch-free and ready for use on demanding shoots. Its lightweight yet protective design makes it an essential accessory for on-location work.
Long-Term Investment for Serious Professionals
Unlike lower-cost ND filters that may introduce color drift, fade, or fail to adequately control IR, the Tokina Cinema PRO IRND 2.4 is engineered for professional longevity. Its hyper-neutral coating, infrared suppression, and durable glass construction provide unmatched consistency, making it a reliable, long-term investment for cinematographers who cannot compromise on image quality. By choosing this filter, professionals secure a tool that maintains cinematic accuracy, dependable exposure control, and durable build quality—qualities that cheaper alternatives simply cannot match.

This small business has the best customer service HANDS DOWN!!
Lucas worked with me diligently to help me find a camera that would fit my needs and that would arrive in time for my trip. I take photos, but wanted a smaller, more compact camera to take with me when traveling. He even reached out to other camera experts to make sure he was giving me the best advice for the equipment that would accommodate my needs!
Lucas was patient with me and was in constant contact with the camera supplier to keep me updated on the status of my order and when the items would be ready for shipment. Once my order arrived to the store, it was in my hands in less than 2 days. I would give 10 stars to this business if I could!!
SHOP SMALL! :)
AMAZING SERVICE!
In short: I was able to receive the black colorway below retail and free next day shipping with the promos that they offered for being a new camera web-shop based from AZ.
Long story: Lucas who is prolly the only rep for the company cuz they're so small is the best dude ever. Since i ordered he responded on emails and updates quicker than some of my friends texting me back about where am at on the list as people just kept cancelling their order. I went from 9th place in line to 4th place in line for the silver. And he hit me up saying that they were still waiting on Fuji to send shipping updates and that no company knows what they get on their weekly fuji shipments other than from a 24 hour window of receiving shipping details.
He then noted that there were two black X100Vs available that were reserved to customers who ordered but have not confirmed. I said if they dont confirm please let me know and ill take that instead of the silver. The next day he hits me saying the customer said to cancel and he sent me an invoice. I ordered accessories for the camera on amazon right after and my package for the camera came before my amazon package. Lucas was super nice and transparent about everything. Dope experience from NUZIRA.
Lucas was so incredibly helpful!!! I’ve genuinely never had better customer service. They offered to stay late so I could get my order and were so patient with all my questions. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

NUZIRA MADE MY MONTH!
I was a little concerned when I first came across this small business but I am so so thankful I di! They have the NICESt staff and customer service. I have been on the waitlist for this camera for a few months now so when Lucas called saying they had it back in stock I was so freaking excited! Made my whole month. This camera absolutely lives up to the hype. I love how lightweight it is. I can pop it into any bag and head out the door. the images are crisp, high quality, and stunning. I use film sim and not film sim. The film simulations are nearly identical to real film. I have another fuji camera that does film sim but it can't even be compared to this one. I love my Fujifilm X100v so much! Amazing camera! Thanks you Nuzira!
