Tokina 86mm PRO IRND 1.2 Filter – 4-Stop Neutral Density Optical Control
The Tokina 86mm PRO IRND 1.2 Filter (4 Stop) is the professional filmmaker’s and photographer’s indispensable tool for achieving precise light control without compromising image fidelity, sharpness, or color balance. Designed with an impressive 1.2 optical density, this solid neutral density filter delivers a true 4-stop (16x) light reduction, enabling you to shoot with slower shutter speeds or wider apertures in bright daylight—ideal for capturing smooth water movement, dreamy long-exposures, or cinematic motion blur. Whether you're controlling depth of field for an artistic portrait or managing light exposure in harsh environments, the Tokina IRND 1.2 gives you the flexibility to create without boundaries.
Built with high-precision optical glass and housed in a durable, yet lightweight aluminum-alloy frame, this filter is engineered for performance and longevity. The standout feature is Tokina’s proprietary ACCU-ND vapor deposition coating, applied to both surfaces of the filter. This advanced technology ensures flat spectral attenuation, not only across the visible spectrum but also deep into the infrared range (up to ~1200nm), effectively eliminating IR contamination and unwanted color casts. Your blacks stay rich, your whites stay crisp, and your color balance remains true to life—even in challenging lighting situations. Unlike typical ND filters that suffer from IR shifts or faded blacks in digital sensors, Tokina’s solution offers uncompromised neutrality, giving your footage and photos a clean, polished look straight out of the camera.
The standard 86mm screw-in design fits a broad range of professional lenses and ensures seamless integration into your kit. Its robust metal ring offers durability for rugged outdoor use while maintaining a slim profile that prevents vignetting on wide-angle glass. With precise threading and compatibility for filter stacking, it accommodates creative versatility without disrupting your shooting flow. Whether you're filming under the scorching sun, capturing city lights at dusk, or photographing waterfalls in midday glare, this filter empowers you to take full creative control of exposure and motion blur.
Weighing approximately 0.485 lbs and measuring 6.75 x 6.45 x 1.70 inches (packaged), the Tokina 86mm PRO IRND 1.2 is compact, portable, and built for mobility. It includes a padded protective pouch to keep your gear safe in transport, and it’s backed by a 1-year limited manufacturer’s warranty, offering peace of mind with your purchase. This is more than just an accessory—it's a precision-crafted enhancement for any high-end optical workflow.
In a crowded market of ND filters, Tokina stands out with its exceptional IR neutrality, outstanding build quality, and cinema-grade clarity. It’s not just about reducing light—it’s about enhancing creative freedom while preserving the integrity of your visuals. For photographers and cinematographers who demand precision, color accuracy, and consistency in every frame, the Tokina 86mm PRO IRND 1.2 Filter is the ultimate choice. Elevate your visuals. Shoot with confidence. Control the light—masterfully.
Features:
True 4-Stop Light Reduction for Professional Exposure Control
The Tokina PRO IRND 1.2 Filter offers a precise optical density of 1.2, providing an exact 4-stop reduction in light transmission—equivalent to a 16x filter factor. This level of control enables creators to shoot at wider apertures or use longer shutter speeds, even in bright lighting conditions, without overexposing their images. It’s particularly advantageous for achieving cinematic motion blur in video, dreamy water effects in landscape photography, or maintaining shallow depth-of-field in harsh daylight scenarios. Unlike variable ND filters that can create cross-pattern artifacts, this solid ND filter ensures consistent, reliable exposure control across the entire frame.
ACCU-ND Coating Technology for IR and Color Neutrality
One of the most critical advantages of the Tokina PRO IRND 1.2 Filter is its proprietary ACCU-ND coating, a vapor-deposited layer applied to both sides of the glass. This advanced coating provides uniform light attenuation not only in the visible spectrum but also in the near-infrared range, up to approximately 1200nm. This feature prevents common issues such as IR color shifting, muddy shadows, and desaturated blacks that plague other ND filters on digital sensors. The result is true-to-life color reproduction and rich, accurate blacks—essential for professional-grade photography and videography.
Premium Optical Glass Delivers Maximum Sharpness and Clarity
Built with precision-engineered optical glass, the Tokina filter ensures superior resolution, sharpness, and optical clarity. It preserves the image quality of even the highest-resolution sensors and lenses. Whether you’re shooting 4K video or high-megapixel stills, you’ll experience zero image degradation, no ghosting, and minimal flare. This makes it suitable for demanding creative applications where detail retention and color fidelity are non-negotiable.
Durable Yet Lightweight Aluminum-Alloy Frame
Encased in a rugged yet lightweight anodized aluminum-alloy ring, this filter is engineered to endure professional use in the field. The frame resists flexing, bending, or warping under pressure, ensuring the filter remains flat and optically true. Its threaded design allows for secure attachment and easy stacking with other filters, such as circular polarizers or UV protectors. This makes it a highly functional accessory that adapts to various lens and filter combinations without compromising structural integrity.
Industry-Standard 86mm Screw-In Format for Broad Compatibility
The Tokina PRO IRND 1.2 Filter is designed with a standard 86mm diameter, compatible with a wide array of professional lenses. Its screw-in format allows for a seamless, secure connection without special adapters. The size is also large enough to accommodate wide-angle lenses without causing vignetting, making it ideal for cinematographers and landscape photographers using full-frame setups.
Complete Infrared Suppression for Clean Digital Imaging
Unlike standard ND filters that block only visible light, this Tokina filter also suppresses infrared light—critical for digital image sensors that are sensitive to IR contamination. Without IR suppression, blacks can turn purple or brown, and skin tones may appear unnatural under certain lighting. Tokina’s specialized IR control ensures clean shadows, accurate skin tones, and neutral colors, especially when used with high-end cinema cameras or mirrorless systems that capture in broader spectral ranges.
Professional-Grade Build with Compact, Travel-Ready Design
Despite its professional-grade performance, the Tokina 86mm PRO IRND 1.2 Filter is compact and highly portable. With a total packaged weight of approximately 0.485 lbs and dimensions of 6.75 x 6.45 x 1.70 inches, it fits effortlessly in any gear bag. It also includes a padded protective pouch for safe storage and transport, making it the ideal companion for travel photographers and mobile filmmakers working in diverse environments.
Backed by a Manufacturer Warranty and Built for Longevity
Each Tokina PRO IRND 1.2 Filter comes with a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty, underscoring its quality assurance and reliability. The coating is resistant to scratches and environmental conditions, meaning it’s built not only for optical performance but also for long-term durability. This makes the filter a smart investment for professionals looking for a dependable ND solution that delivers consistent results over time.

It is so nice to see a small family owned shop instead of these big box stores. I generally felt cared about when getting my blackmagic cinema camera. Love the quality of the images and how easy it is to use.

This small business has the best customer service HANDS DOWN!!
Lucas worked with me diligently to help me find a camera that would fit my needs and that would arrive in time for my trip. I take photos, but wanted a smaller, more compact camera to take with me when traveling. He even reached out to other camera experts to make sure he was giving me the best advice for the equipment that would accommodate my needs!
Lucas was patient with me and was in constant contact with the camera supplier to keep me updated on the status of my order and when the items would be ready for shipment. Once my order arrived to the store, it was in my hands in less than 2 days. I would give 10 stars to this business if I could!!
SHOP SMALL! :)
AMAZING SERVICE!
In short: I was able to receive the black colorway below retail and free next day shipping with the promos that they offered for being a new camera web-shop based from AZ.
Long story: Lucas who is prolly the only rep for the company cuz they're so small is the best dude ever. Since i ordered he responded on emails and updates quicker than some of my friends texting me back about where am at on the list as people just kept cancelling their order. I went from 9th place in line to 4th place in line for the silver. And he hit me up saying that they were still waiting on Fuji to send shipping updates and that no company knows what they get on their weekly fuji shipments other than from a 24 hour window of receiving shipping details.
He then noted that there were two black X100Vs available that were reserved to customers who ordered but have not confirmed. I said if they dont confirm please let me know and ill take that instead of the silver. The next day he hits me saying the customer said to cancel and he sent me an invoice. I ordered accessories for the camera on amazon right after and my package for the camera came before my amazon package. Lucas was super nice and transparent about everything. Dope experience from NUZIRA.
Lucas was so incredibly helpful!!! I’ve genuinely never had better customer service. They offered to stay late so I could get my order and were so patient with all my questions. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

NUZIRA MADE MY MONTH!
I was a little concerned when I first came across this small business but I am so so thankful I di! They have the NICESt staff and customer service. I have been on the waitlist for this camera for a few months now so when Lucas called saying they had it back in stock I was so freaking excited! Made my whole month. This camera absolutely lives up to the hype. I love how lightweight it is. I can pop it into any bag and head out the door. the images are crisp, high quality, and stunning. I use film sim and not film sim. The film simulations are nearly identical to real film. I have another fuji camera that does film sim but it can't even be compared to this one. I love my Fujifilm X100v so much! Amazing camera! Thanks you Nuzira!
