06 · Shutter + IBIS
How do I control motion?
A fast shutter freezes motion; a slow one shows it. A steadier camera — or less light through an ND filter — lets you choose which one you get.
The same lesson hangs on the studio wall in Scottsdale — come try it with the camera in your hands.

Features:
45MP Back-Illuminated Stacked Full-Frame CMOS Sensor
The Canon EOS R5 Mark II Mirrorless Camera is built around a 45MP back-illuminated stacked full-frame CMOS sensor that combines high resolution with significantly faster sensor readout. The 8192 × 5464 maximum image size provides substantial detail for commercial photography, wildlife, landscapes, weddings, editorial work, and large-format printing while leaving photographers plenty of room to crop and recompose. Its stacked architecture is especially valuable for action because faster readout supports high continuous shooting speeds while helping reduce rolling-shutter distortion during electronic-shutter photography.
DIGIC Accelerator and DIGIC X Accelerated Capture System
Canon pairs its DIGIC X image processor with a dedicated DIGIC Accelerator, creating the Accelerated Capture System at the heart of the R5 Mark II. The additional processing power allows the camera to analyze large amounts of sensor information rapidly for autofocus, subject recognition, exposure, white balance, image processing, and high-speed capture. For photographers and filmmakers, this means the camera can respond intelligently to complex scenes while maintaining the speed required for professional action and hybrid production.
Up to 30 fps High-Speed Electronic Shooting
For sports, wildlife, motorsports, performances, and other fast-moving subjects, the R5 Mark II can shoot full-resolution images at up to approximately 30 frames per second using its electronic shutter. Mechanical and electronic first-curtain shooting reach approximately 12 fps. This combination lets photographers choose between extreme capture speed and conventional shutter operation depending on the assignment, increasing the chances of recording the exact expression, movement, impact, or peak-action frame they need.
Pre-Continuous Shooting for Unpredictable Action
Some moments happen faster than human reaction time. Pre-continuous shooting is designed specifically for these situations by buffering images before the shutter button is fully pressed. It is particularly useful when photographing birds taking flight, animals suddenly moving, athletes making an unexpected play, or other events where anticipating the exact starting point is difficult.
Advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF
The R5 Mark II uses Dual Pixel CMOS AF to deliver fast and precise autofocus across an extensive portion of the image area. Automatic AF coverage can reach approximately 100% horizontally and vertically under compatible conditions, with up to 1,053 AF zones for still photography and 975 for movie recording. Photographers can choose Spot AF, 1-point AF, expanded areas, flexible zones, and Whole Area AF, giving them precise control for everything from static portraits to unpredictable action.
Intelligent People, Animal and Vehicle Detection
Advanced subject-recognition technology allows the autofocus system to identify and track different types of subjects rather than relying solely on conventional contrast, distance, or manually positioned AF points. Detection modes cover people, animals, and vehicles, with supported animal recognition including dogs, cats, birds, and horses. Vehicle detection extends the camera's usefulness for motorsports, aircraft, trains, and other specialized action photography.
Advanced Eye Detection for Critical Focus
When photographing people and supported animals, eye detection helps place focus where viewers naturally look first. The ability to prioritize an eye is especially valuable when working with shallow depth of field, long telephoto lenses, fast primes, portraits, wildlife, and subjects moving toward or away from the camera. It reduces the amount of manual AF-point adjustment required and allows photographers to concentrate more closely on timing and composition.
Eye Control AF for More Intuitive Subject Selection
Eye Control AF provides another way to interact with the autofocus system through the electronic viewfinder. After appropriate calibration, photographers can use their gaze to help direct the camera toward the intended AF target. In scenes containing several potential subjects, this can provide a more intuitive method of telling the camera where attention should be directed without constantly repositioning an AF point using conventional controls.
Action Priority AF for Sports Photography
Canon's Action Priority technology is designed to recognize important action occurring within supported sports scenarios and help prioritize the subjects involved. Rather than treating every detected person identically, the camera can use scene and action information to determine which subject requires autofocus attention. For sports photographers working in rapidly changing environments, this helps the AF system respond more effectively to decisive moments.
Registered People Priority
For events, weddings, press assignments, performances, and team sports, Registered People Priority allows selected individuals to receive greater recognition priority. When several people appear within the frame, this can help the camera concentrate on the photographer's intended person instead of repeatedly switching attention to another nearby face.
In-Body Image Stabilization
The R5 Mark II incorporates sensor-shift in-body image stabilization (IBIS) to help compensate for camera movement. This provides stabilization even when using lenses without optical IS and can work together with compatible stabilized RF lenses through Canon's coordinated stabilization system. The result is greater handheld flexibility for photography and video, particularly when tripods or other support equipment would slow the shooter down.
Electronic, Mechanical and Electronic First-Curtain Shutter Options
Three shutter methods allow photographers to adapt the camera to different environments. The electronic shutter provides silent operation and very high shooting speeds, while mechanical and electronic first-curtain options provide alternative characteristics for situations where conventional shutter behavior is preferred. Mechanical and electronic first-curtain speeds extend to 1/8,000 second, providing the speed required to freeze action or work with wide apertures in bright conditions.
Silent Shooting for Discreet Photography
Electronic-shutter operation enables photographers to work with minimal shutter noise. This is particularly valuable for weddings, ceremonies, wildlife, stage performances, documentary photography, press events, and quiet locations where mechanical shutter noise could distract a subject or disrupt the environment.
ISO 100–51,200 for Flexible Lighting Conditions
A standard still-photo sensitivity range of ISO 100–51,200, expandable to the equivalent of ISO 50 and ISO 102,400, gives the R5 Mark II substantial flexibility across changing lighting conditions. Photographers can work in bright daylight, interiors, evening events, indoor sports venues, and low-light environments without constantly changing their shooting approach.
Anti-Flicker and High-Frequency Anti-Flicker Control
Artificial lighting can cause inconsistent brightness or banding when shooting at high shutter speeds. The R5 Mark II includes anti-flicker functionality and high-frequency anti-flicker controls designed to help photographers work more effectively under problematic artificial light sources, making these tools particularly useful for indoor sports, events, commercial locations, and LED-lit environments.
Internal 8K RAW Recording Up to 60p-Class Frame Rates
The R5 Mark II is much more than a high-resolution still camera. It can record 8K RAW internally at up to 59.94/50p, providing professional filmmakers with exceptionally detailed source footage and substantial post-production flexibility. Internal RAW recording reduces dependence on an external recorder while giving advanced productions greater control over the final image.
4K Recording Up to 120p
For action and slow-motion production, the camera supports 4K recording at up to 120p-class frame rates. This makes it possible to turn fast movement into detailed slow-motion sequences while retaining 4K resolution, making the feature valuable for sports films, wildlife, weddings, commercials, product videos, music productions, and cinematic content.
Canon RAW, Light RAW and S-RAW Recording Options
Multiple RAW recording options give professional users greater flexibility when balancing image quality, resolution, storage capacity, and workflow requirements. Canon RAW and Light RAW provide options for high-end production, while 4K S-RAW gives filmmakers access to 12-bit RAW flexibility when full 8K resolution is unnecessary.
Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3
Support for Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 gives filmmakers greater flexibility during color grading. Canon Log 2 is particularly useful for workflows prioritizing dynamic range and extensive grading, while Canon Log 3 provides another professional option for productions seeking a practical balance between grading flexibility and workflow efficiency. Their inclusion also makes the R5 Mark II easier to integrate into broader Canon professional video and Cinema EOS workflows.
Professional Gamma and HDR Options
In addition to Canon Log, the camera supports professional imaging options including Canon 709, BT.709 Standard, PQ, HLG, and HDR PQ depending on the selected recording configuration. These choices allow videographers to tailor capture to conventional SDR delivery, HDR production, broadcast-style workflows, or more extensive post-production.
XF-AVC S and XF-HEVC S Professional Recording
Support for XF-AVC S and XF-HEVC S expands the R5 Mark II beyond typical consumer-oriented mirrorless recording options. These formats provide professional creators with additional choices for balancing image quality, compression efficiency, editing requirements, and production workflows.
Up to 12-Bit RAW Video
Supported RAW recording modes provide 12-bit capture, retaining significantly more tonal and color information for demanding post-production. For commercial filmmaking, visual effects, professional color grading, and productions where the final look is created extensively in post, the additional data provides greater creative latitude than conventional compressed 8-bit recording.
Video Pre-Recording
The R5 Mark II can continuously buffer video and retain footage from 3 or 5 seconds before the record button is pressed in compatible modes. This is extremely useful for wildlife behavior, breaking news, sports, documentary production, and other unpredictable subjects where the important moment may begin before the operator has time to react.
Extended Movie Recording Capability
Canon specifies maximum continuous recording limits reaching up to six hours in supported standard-frame-rate configurations, although actual recording time depends on temperature, power, card capacity, recording settings, and operating conditions. This makes the camera better suited to interviews, events, performances, presentations, and other productions requiring longer takes.
Simultaneous Still Photography and Video Capture
Under compatible settings and power configurations, the R5 Mark II can capture still photographs while recording Full HD video. This hybrid capability can be valuable for event shooters, journalists, social media teams, and production crews that need both photographs and video from the same moment without operating two separate cameras.
Movie Servo AF and Subject Tracking
Canon's autofocus technology extends into video through Movie Servo AF and subject recognition, helping maintain focus on moving subjects during recording. For solo operators, gimbal work, documentary filmmaking, events, interviews, and content production, dependable continuous AF can reduce the need for a dedicated focus puller.
Movie Digital IS
Alongside the camera's sensor-shift stabilization, Movie Digital IS provides an additional stabilization option for video. This helps reduce unwanted movement during handheld recording and run-and-gun production where larger stabilization rigs may be impractical.
Professional Video Monitoring Tools
The R5 Mark II incorporates tools such as zebra display, False Color, time code, headphone monitoring, external microphone support, and HDMI output. These provide filmmakers with better control over exposure, audio, synchronization, monitoring, and external production equipment, making the body more suitable for structured professional video workflows.
5.76-Million-Dot OLED Electronic Viewfinder
The high-resolution 5.76-million-dot OLED EVF provides approximately 100% frame coverage and approximately 0.90× magnification. Refresh rates of up to 119.88 fps provide a responsive viewing experience when following movement, making the viewfinder particularly valuable for sports, wildlife, and other fast-paced subjects.

A high-resolution vari-angle touchscreen LCD allows photographers and filmmakers to compose from positions that would be difficult with a fixed screen. It is useful for low-angle wildlife, overhead event photography, tripod work, vertical content, video production, and self-facing compositions while also providing touch-based AF and menu control.
Dual CFexpress Type B and UHS-II SD Card Slots
The dual-card system combines CFexpress Type B performance with the accessibility of UHS-II SD storage. CFexpress provides the bandwidth required for demanding high-resolution bursts and advanced video modes, while the SD slot adds flexibility for more conventional shooting, file management, and backup-oriented workflows.
JPEG, HEIF, RAW and C-RAW Still Capture
Photographers can choose between JPEG, HEIF, RAW, and C-RAW depending on their workflow. JPEG provides immediately usable files, HEIF supports advanced imaging workflows, RAW preserves extensive editing flexibility, and C-RAW offers a more storage-conscious alternative for photographers who still want RAW processing capabilities.
HDR PQ and Advanced HDR Imaging
HDR PQ support gives photographers and filmmakers another option for capturing and displaying a wider range of brightness and tonal information on compatible HDR displays. This is particularly valuable when highlights, bright skies, artificial lighting, and deep shadows coexist within the same scene.
Focus Bracketing for Extended Depth of Field
Focus bracketing automates the capture of images at progressively different focus distances. These files can be used in focus-stacking workflows to produce greater apparent depth of field, making the feature particularly useful for macro, product, jewelry, food, landscape, and other detail-oriented photography.
Advanced In-Camera Image Processing
The DIGIC X and DIGIC Accelerator architecture supports advanced computational processing, including noise-reduction and image-upscaling functions. These tools can streamline workflows when photographers need enhanced output without immediately moving every image into desktop editing software.

It is so nice to see a small family owned shop instead of these big box stores. I generally felt cared about when getting my blackmagic cinema camera. Love the quality of the images and how easy it is to use.

This small business has the best customer service HANDS DOWN!!
Lucas worked with me diligently to help me find a camera that would fit my needs and that would arrive in time for my trip. I take photos, but wanted a smaller, more compact camera to take with me when traveling. He even reached out to other camera experts to make sure he was giving me the best advice for the equipment that would accommodate my needs!
Lucas was patient with me and was in constant contact with the camera supplier to keep me updated on the status of my order and when the items would be ready for shipment. Once my order arrived to the store, it was in my hands in less than 2 days. I would give 10 stars to this business if I could!!
SHOP SMALL! :)
AMAZING SERVICE!
In short: I was able to receive the black colorway below retail and free next day shipping with the promos that they offered for being a new camera web-shop based from AZ.
Long story: Lucas who is prolly the only rep for the company cuz they're so small is the best dude ever. Since i ordered he responded on emails and updates quicker than some of my friends texting me back about where am at on the list as people just kept cancelling their order. I went from 9th place in line to 4th place in line for the silver. And he hit me up saying that they were still waiting on Fuji to send shipping updates and that no company knows what they get on their weekly fuji shipments other than from a 24 hour window of receiving shipping details.
He then noted that there were two black X100Vs available that were reserved to customers who ordered but have not confirmed. I said if they dont confirm please let me know and ill take that instead of the silver. The next day he hits me saying the customer said to cancel and he sent me an invoice. I ordered accessories for the camera on amazon right after and my package for the camera came before my amazon package. Lucas was super nice and transparent about everything. Dope experience from NUZIRA.
Lucas was so incredibly helpful!!! I’ve genuinely never had better customer service. They offered to stay late so I could get my order and were so patient with all my questions. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

NUZIRA MADE MY MONTH!
I was a little concerned when I first came across this small business but I am so so thankful I di! They have the NICESt staff and customer service. I have been on the waitlist for this camera for a few months now so when Lucas called saying they had it back in stock I was so freaking excited! Made my whole month. This camera absolutely lives up to the hype. I love how lightweight it is. I can pop it into any bag and head out the door. the images are crisp, high quality, and stunning. I use film sim and not film sim. The film simulations are nearly identical to real film. I have another fuji camera that does film sim but it can't even be compared to this one. I love my Fujifilm X100v so much! Amazing camera! Thanks you Nuzira!
