Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM Art Lens for Nikon F
The Sigma 24-105mm F4.0 DG OS HSM Art Lens (Nikon F) is the ultimate all-in-one solution for photographers who demand professional versatility, uncompromising image quality, and robust design without breaking the bank. Designed as part of Sigma’s acclaimed Art line, this full-frame Nikon F-mount lens delivers a constant f/4 aperture across its entire zoom range, ensuring consistent brightness and reliable exposure from wide-angle 24mm landscapes to intimate 105mm portraits. Inside its 19-element, 14-group optical construction, the lens integrates 2 FLD glass elements, 2 SLD elements, and 3 aspherical lenses—working in harmony to suppress chromatic aberrations, reduce distortion, and achieve edge-to-edge sharpness with stunning color fidelity. A Super Multi-Layer Coating further enhances image quality by minimizing flare and ghosting, allowing you to capture vibrant, high-contrast shots even in backlit or challenging lighting conditions. Featuring Sigma’s Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) for lightning-fast, whisper-quiet autofocus and full-time manual focus override, this lens is as precise as it is responsive. Its Optical Stabilizer (OS) provides rock-steady handheld shooting, making it an invaluable tool for event, travel, wedding, and video shooters who want crisp results at slower shutter speeds. The rounded 9-blade diaphragm creates exceptionally smooth bokeh, bringing depth and artistry to portrait and close-up work, while the minimum focusing distance of 0.45m (1.5ft) delivers a respectable 0.22x magnification ratio, perfect for detail-rich close-ups. With a professional-grade build measuring 89mm in diameter, 109mm in length, and weighing 885g, it strikes the perfect balance of durability and portability. The 82mm filter thread and non-rotating front element make it filter-friendly, ideal for polarizers and ND filters in landscape photography. Designed and manufactured in Japan, it is compatible with Sigma’s USB Dock, allowing users to update firmware and fine-tune focus performance, giving it an edge over many OEM alternatives. For photographers seeking a single lens that excels across multiple genres—landscape, portrait, street, documentary, and video—the Sigma 24-105mm f/4 Art is a superior choice, rivaling or surpassing the performance of more expensive Nikon and Canon counterparts at a significantly better value. With its exceptional sharpness, stabilization, and versatility, this lens doesn’t just meet professional standards—it redefines them, making it the smart, future-proof investment for Nikon shooters ready to elevate their creative output.
Features:
Constant f/4 Aperture Across the Zoom Range
Unlike variable-aperture zoom lenses, the Sigma 24-105mm maintains a constant f/4 aperture from 24mm wide-angle to 105mm telephoto. This ensures consistent brightness in every shot, making exposure predictable and reliable. It’s particularly useful for professionals shooting events or fast-paced subjects where adjusting aperture during zooming would otherwise slow them down.
Wide-to-Telephoto Versatility
With a 24-105mm focal length, this lens covers everything from sweeping landscapes to tight portraits and mid-telephoto framing. For Nikon FX cameras, it provides a true full-frame range, while on DX-format bodies, it effectively delivers around 36-158mm, giving photographers even more reach. This makes it a perfect walkaround lens for travel, weddings, and commercial work.
Professional-Grade Optical Construction
The lens features 19 elements in 14 groups, including 2 FLD (“F Low Dispersion”) glass elements, 2 SLD (Special Low Dispersion) elements, and 3 aspherical elements. Together, these advanced optics control chromatic aberrations, suppress distortion, and maintain edge-to-edge sharpness—even at wide apertures. This level of optical engineering is usually reserved for much higher-priced OEM lenses.
Super Multi-Layer Coating for Superior Image Clarity
Flare and ghosting are common problems in backlit or high-contrast conditions, but Sigma combats this with its Super Multi-Layer Coating. This enhances contrast and color fidelity, ensuring clean, vibrant images that retain fine detail and tonal richness, even in challenging light.
Optical Stabilizer for Steady Shots
The built-in Optical Stabilizer (OS) compensates for camera shake, delivering sharper images when shooting handheld or in low-light environments. This feature allows photographers to shoot at slower shutter speeds without sacrificing sharpness, making it invaluable for documentary, street, and event photography.
Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) Autofocus System
Sigma’s HSM autofocus motor provides fast, accurate, and near-silent focusing—ideal for both stills and video shooting. With full-time manual focus override, photographers can fine-tune focus instantly, giving them complete creative control without switching modes.
Rounded 9-Blade Diaphragm for Smooth Bokeh
For portrait and creative shooters, the 9 rounded diaphragm blades ensure beautifully soft, circular bokeh. This allows subjects to stand out against a smoothly blurred background, adding artistic depth to both portraits and close-up shots.
Close Focusing Capability
With a minimum focusing distance of 0.45m (1.5ft) and a maximum magnification of approximately 0.22x, the lens performs surprisingly well in close-up scenarios. This makes it suitable for product photography, detail shots, and even casual macro-style work without needing a dedicated macro lens.
Professional Build and Handling
Measuring 89mm in diameter and 109mm in length with a weight of 885g, the lens offers a robust, professional-grade feel. Its inner focusing mechanism ensures the front element doesn’t rotate, making it highly compatible with filters such as polarizers and ND filters. The 82mm filter thread supports large, professional filters for landscape and commercial use.
Compatibility with Sigma USB Dock
Unlike many third-party and OEM lenses, the Sigma 24-105mm Art lens is fully compatible with the Sigma USB Dock. This allows photographers to update firmware, customize focus settings, and fine-tune the lens for their specific camera body—future-proofing it for evolving camera technology.
Exceptional Value Compared to OEM Lenses
When compared to Nikon’s own 24-120mm f/4 or Canon’s 24-105mm f/4, Sigma’s Art version delivers equal or superior image quality at a lower cost. For professionals and enthusiasts seeking maximum performance per dollar, it stands out as one of the most compelling mid-range zoom options on the market.
- Landscape Photography – Capture expansive, sharp, and vibrant wide-angle scenes at 24mm with excellent edge-to-edge clarity and minimal distortion.
- Portrait Photography – Use the mid-telephoto range (70–105mm) with smooth background blur from the 9-blade diaphragm for professional-looking portraits.
- Event and Wedding Photography – Its versatile zoom range and Optical Stabilizer make it perfect for handheld shooting in dynamic environments with varied lighting.
- Travel Photography – A single lens that covers wide, mid, and telephoto perspectives, reducing the need to carry multiple lenses while maintaining high image quality.
- Street Photography – Discreet autofocus and flexible focal length options allow for candid captures of subjects in diverse urban settings.
- Documentary and Photojournalism – Reliable, fast, and versatile for capturing unpredictable, real-life moments where quick adaptation is essential.
- Commercial/Product Photography – Sharpness and color fidelity across the frame make it a reliable choice for catalog work, product shots, and studio setups.
- Video Recording – Quiet HSM autofocus and Optical Stabilizer deliver smooth, steady footage, making it suitable for video creators and hybrid shooters.
- Close-Up & Detail Shots – With a minimum focusing distance of 0.45m and ~0.22x magnification, it works well for detail-rich captures without needing a dedicated macro lens.

- Super Multi-Layer Coating minimizes flare and ghosting in strong or backlit scenes.
- Rounded 9-blade diaphragm creates smooth and pleasing bokeh.
- Solid build quality with professional Art-series design.
- Filter-friendly with a large 82mm thread and non-rotating front element.
- USB Dock compatibility allows firmware updates and focus fine-tuning.
- Strong value for money compared to Nikon/Canon OEM alternatives.
Cons
- Heavier than many competing standard zooms (~885g), which may fatigue handheld users over time.
- Not fully weather-sealed, requiring extra care in harsh environments.
- Large 82mm filter size means higher costs for filters.
- Some reports of vignetting and chromatic aberration at wide angles and wide apertures.
- Lens extends physically during zooming, which can make it less compact for travel.
- Tripod collar not included, limiting balance options for video or long exposures.
- Being third-party, firmware updates or compatibility checks may occasionally be required for newer Nikon bodies.
- Rounded diaphragm - When photographing with point light sources such as electric lights or reflections on a body of water in the background, the rounded 9-blade diaphragm helps produce an attractive bokeh effect—even at large-aperture settings.
- HSM (hypersonic motor) - Delivers high AF speed and extremely quiet performance. An optimized algorithm offers even smoother automatic focusing, and full-time manual focus override is another key feature.
- Excellent handling - Positioning the zoom ring at the front of the lens helps make possible a slim barrel design. In addition, the wide, thick zoom ring contributes to the lens’s high usability. Thanks to SIGMA’s inner focus technologies, adjusting the focus and zoom rings does not change the length of the lens, resulting in excellent handling. Since the front of the lens does not move, the lens can be used with a circular polarizing filter.
- TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) - A first for the industry, the barrel of the lens features a new TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) that offers minimal thermal shrinkage combined with exceptional hardness. It also offers 25% greater elasticity than polycarbonate. Since its thermal shrinkage is low, TSC matches well with metal parts, further contributing to the high-precision construction of the lens. TSC also makes possible slimmer forms for parts like zoom rings and scaling rings.
- Flare and ghosting reduction - SIGMA’s Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting to help photographers produce sharp and high-contrast images even in backlit conditions. The included lens hood can be attached to block out extraneous light, which can have a negative effect on rendering performance.
- High-precision, rugged brass bayonet mount - The brass mount combines high precision with rugged construction. Its treated surfaces and enhanced strength contribute to the exceptional durability of the lens.

It is so nice to see a small family owned shop instead of these big box stores. I generally felt cared about when getting my blackmagic cinema camera. Love the quality of the images and how easy it is to use.

This small business has the best customer service HANDS DOWN!!
Lucas worked with me diligently to help me find a camera that would fit my needs and that would arrive in time for my trip. I take photos, but wanted a smaller, more compact camera to take with me when traveling. He even reached out to other camera experts to make sure he was giving me the best advice for the equipment that would accommodate my needs!
Lucas was patient with me and was in constant contact with the camera supplier to keep me updated on the status of my order and when the items would be ready for shipment. Once my order arrived to the store, it was in my hands in less than 2 days. I would give 10 stars to this business if I could!!
SHOP SMALL! :)
AMAZING SERVICE!
In short: I was able to receive the black colorway below retail and free next day shipping with the promos that they offered for being a new camera web-shop based from AZ.
Long story: Lucas who is prolly the only rep for the company cuz they're so small is the best dude ever. Since i ordered he responded on emails and updates quicker than some of my friends texting me back about where am at on the list as people just kept cancelling their order. I went from 9th place in line to 4th place in line for the silver. And he hit me up saying that they were still waiting on Fuji to send shipping updates and that no company knows what they get on their weekly fuji shipments other than from a 24 hour window of receiving shipping details.
He then noted that there were two black X100Vs available that were reserved to customers who ordered but have not confirmed. I said if they dont confirm please let me know and ill take that instead of the silver. The next day he hits me saying the customer said to cancel and he sent me an invoice. I ordered accessories for the camera on amazon right after and my package for the camera came before my amazon package. Lucas was super nice and transparent about everything. Dope experience from NUZIRA.
Lucas was so incredibly helpful!!! I’ve genuinely never had better customer service. They offered to stay late so I could get my order and were so patient with all my questions. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

NUZIRA MADE MY MONTH!
I was a little concerned when I first came across this small business but I am so so thankful I di! They have the NICESt staff and customer service. I have been on the waitlist for this camera for a few months now so when Lucas called saying they had it back in stock I was so freaking excited! Made my whole month. This camera absolutely lives up to the hype. I love how lightweight it is. I can pop it into any bag and head out the door. the images are crisp, high quality, and stunning. I use film sim and not film sim. The film simulations are nearly identical to real film. I have another fuji camera that does film sim but it can't even be compared to this one. I love my Fujifilm X100v so much! Amazing camera! Thanks you Nuzira!
